The resort was opened for the 1986/1987 winter season. It was founded by Mr. Josep Mesegué i Utgé.
Located in the area of influence of the municipality of Rialp and Soriguera, it lies on the Orri massif and is surrounded by the Alt Pirineu nature park, meaning it boasts spectacular natural landscapes. Its highest point is the Pic de l’Orri at 2,440m, which offers a unique viewpoint over the Pyrenees, from Puigmal in Catalonia to Turbó in Aragon, taking in the Pica d’Estats, the roof of Catalonia at 3,143m.
95% of the slopes are north-facing in the form of a bowl, and this together with the verdant mountain pine woods means that it has excellent snow quality throughout the winter.
The resort has nearly 27km of slopes and an 800-metre height difference, with slopes suitable for all levels and types of skiers and snowboarders.
